Uniform particle size reduction

The conical screen and rotating impeller work together to produce a consistently narrow particle size distribution, eliminating fines and oversized agglomerates in a single pass. Reproducible batch-to-batch with no operator variability.

Gentle milling - Product integrity preserved

Precise film coating of pellets and granules via a Wurster insert. Achieves uniform coat weight gain for controlled-release, sustained-release, and enteric dosage forms.

Pre & post granulation size control

Equally effective pre-granulation (de-lumping and raw material sizing) and post-granulation (wet or dry granule sizing before FBD or blending). One machine, two critical control points in your process.

Working principle

Material is fed into the top of the conical chamber. The rotating impeller accelerates particles toward the conical screen, allowing sized particles pass through immediately while oversized particles are repeatedly worked until they reach the target size.

  • Material feed: Powder, granule, or lumpy material is gravity-fed or force-fed into the inlet hopper at the top of the conical chamber.

  • Impeller action: The variable-speed rotating impeller applies controlled centrifugal force, then particles are pushed outward toward the conical screen without high-impact collision.

  • Conical screen sizing: Particles at or below the screen aperture size pass through immediately. Oversized particles are recirculated by the impeller until they reach the target size.

  • Uniform discharge: Sized particles discharge through the bottom outlet directly into the receiving vessel, IPC bin, or next inline process step. This process is done by either gravity or vacuum assisted.

Breaks down raw material agglomerates and lumps before entering the RMG, ensures uniform powder blend and consistent binder distribution for better granule quality.

Wet granule sizing (post-RMG)

Sizes wet granules immediately after discharge from the RMG before entering the FBD. This eliminates large agglomerates that would dry unevenly and reduces drying time.

Dry granule sizing (post-FBD)

Precisely sizes dried granules to the target particle size distribution before blending and compression. This ensures consistent tablet weight, hardness, and disintegration.

API & excipient de-agglomeration

Gently breaks inter-particle bonds in APIs and excipients without damaging crystal structure or polymorph — critical for BCS Class II & IV drug bioavailability.
