Every component of the GEM Auto Coater is designed to deliver uniform coat weight, batch-to-batch reproducibility, and full GMP compliance, at any scale.

Perforated pan drum

Fully perforated stainless steel drum allows inlet air to pass through the tablet bed and exhaust through the pan perforations – achieving uniform drying and efficient solvent removal across the entire batch.

 

Multi Gun Spray systems

Twin-fluid or airless spray guns mounted on a stainless manifold. Adjustable spray rate, atomisation pressure, and pattern width per gun – ensuring even distribution across the tablet bed at every pan fill level.

 

Integrated AHU

High-efficiency air handling unit with HEPA-grade inlet filtration, steam or electric heating, dehumidification, and chilled water cooling. This helps in delivering fully conditioned process air at a controlled temperature and humidity.

 

PLC / SCADA automation

Fully programmable recipe management with up to 500 stored coating recipes. Real-time process trending, alarm management, batch reporting, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11-compliant electronic records.

Inlet / exhaust air balance

Automatic inlet and exhaust airflow balancing maintains consistent negative pressure within the drum — preventing coating mist escape, maintaining cleanroom conditions, and ensuring reproducible drying profiles.

 

Automated WIP / CIP

Spray nozzles inside the drum and manifold for validated wash-in-place cycles. Quick-release spray bar and gun assembly enables full product changeover with minimal downtime and zero cross-contamination risk.

Film coating

The most widely used coating method — applies a thin, uniform polymer film layer to improve appearance, taste masking, stability, and ease of swallowing.
